“You’re not my boss.”

Frankie Muniz, 39, recently shared a sneak peek from the upcoming “Malcolm in the Middle” revival, despite being told not to post anything yet. “I remembered the theme song,” he wrote, adding his excitement for the new episodes while also expressing how much he misses his on-screen brother. The update came via his post on X (formerly Twitter).

Along with his message, he included a photo of himself grinning alongside co-stars Justin Barfield and Christopher Masterson. The theme song he referenced famously includes the line, “You’re not my boss anymore.”

The revival, titled “Malcolm in the Middle: Life’s Still Unfair,” is set to premiere on Disney+ in 2026. While Bryan Cranston, who played Malcolm’s father, was absent from Muniz’s recent snapshot, he will be returning for the new episodes.

Other familiar faces returning include Jane Kaczmarek, Craig Lamar Traylor, and Stevie Kenarvan. Notably, the role of Malcolm’s younger brother Dewey, previously portrayed by Eric Per Sullivan, has been recast with Caleb Ellsworth-Clark. Sullivan stepped back from acting in 2010.

Jamie, the youngest brother, originally an infant in the later seasons, is also being recast, with Anthony Timpano taking on the role this time around.

Additions to the revival include new characters like Malcolm’s girlfriend Tristan (Kiana Madeira) and his daughter Leah (Keeley Kirsten).

This new series will mark Muniz’s return to acting after stepping away from Hollywood to pursue a career in NASCAR. He has been married to Paige Muniz since 2019, and they have a 4-year-old son named Maus.

In a recent interview, he reflected on his decision to take a break, stating that it gave him a greater appreciation for everything. “It allowed me to explore other passions and learn more about myself,” he shared.

Muniz, who utilized his childhood fame in fascinating ways, noted that he had very few days off during his time as a child actor. “People would ask if I regretted missing prom,” he jokingly recalled, “but I was at the Playboy Mansion.”

He moved to Arizona to distance himself from Los Angeles, despite acknowledging that the city had its upsides. “I started enjoying the little things in life more,” he mentioned, reflecting on his new role as a race car driver. Yet, he expressed a hope that the revival would rekindle interest in his acting career. “I’d really like to dive back into that world,” he said.

As of now, Disney+ has not confirmed a specific premiere date for the “Malcolm in the Middle” revival.
