Former President Donald Trump spoke Saturday about the challenges American women face today compared to four years ago.
Trump, who will compete with Vice President Kamala Harris (Democrat) for the White House in 2024, wrote in a Truth Social post: said Compared to four years ago, women are poorer, in worse health and less safe on the country's streets.
He also said women are now more depressed, unhappy and less optimistic and confident about the future.
“I will resolve all this quickly and finally this national nightmare will end. Women will be happy, healthy, confident and free!” he added.
“Abortion will no longer be something we have to think about, because it will continue to be decided by the states and by the people,” Mr Trump said, before highlighting the exceptions for abortion.
Speaking at the National Federation of Republican Women's (NFRW) spring 2024 board meeting, Caroline Leavitt, national spokesperson for the Trump campaign, said the Republican Party “is the party of women,” refuting Democrats' claims on that point, Breitbart News reported in March.
“I'm tired of hearing people say, 'The Democrats are the woman's party.' That's not true. The great old party, the Republican Party, is the woman's party,” she said.
Levitt later spoke to Breitbart News in an interview, which continued:
Specifically, Leavitt pointed out that Biden and the Democrats' economic and border policies are harmful to women and all Americans, and during her speech she also highlighted the hypocrisy of leftists' claims that men should be allowed to participate in women's sports.
“How can we say that when Joe Biden and the Democrats are implementing policies that hurt hardworking women, mothers and families across this country,” Leavitt said of the economy. “It's going to cost the average American family nearly $20,000 more to get by and maintain the same quality of life they had under Trump. Instead of getting ahead, they're just going to maintain the same quality of life they had under Trump.”
During his speech at the Republican National Convention in July, President Trump highlighted the plight of Angel families and their loved ones who were allegedly murdered by illegal immigrants. According to Breitbart News, President Trump mentioned three cases in which the victims were women.
“This is my pledge: I will not let these murderers and criminals into our country,” he said.
According to an ABC News/Ipsos poll conducted in May, before President Joe Biden dropped out of the presidential race, Trump was running neck and neck with suburban women.
