Selena Gomez has opened up about her appearance as she candidly reflects on how her body has changed over the years.

“Today I realized I will never be like this again…” she wrote alongside a photo from 2013, when she was 21, wearing a zebra bikini.

The 31-year-old went on to share photos from her vacation to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico last year.

In the photo, the “Only Murders in the Building” actress was seen wearing high-waisted bikini bottoms and a white bikini top.

“I'm not perfect but I'm proud of who I am…sometimes I forget that it's okay to be me,” she captioned the second image.

In October, Gomez opened up about facing harsh criticism of body shaming after being diagnosed with lupus and undergoing surgery.

Gomez, who was 24 when she was diagnosed, recalled feeling like she didn't have a “teenage body” anymore during a magazine fitting, and said she eventually became self-conscious.

“None of the sample sizes fit, and that would be embarrassing,” she said in the paper. Interview with Fast Company. “But how unrealistic is it to expect a normal woman's body to stay the same?”

Following her diagnosis, the “Single Soon” songstress underwent a kidney transplant and chemotherapy.

A few months later, Gomez was beaten in the chest while wearing a bikini while fleeing to Australia, where her surgical scars were exposed for the world to see.

To make matters worse, the former Disney Channel star was experiencing a public heartbreak at the time following her breakup with singer Justin Bieber.

“Then I had a moment where I stopped feeling positive about the way I looked because of what I saw on Instagram. 'Wow, I wish my body looked like that too,'” she added.

Things worsened in 2018 when the “Lose You to Love Me” hitmaker suffered a mental illness and was admitted to a treatment center, where she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder.

“I had a really tough season,” she reflected in part. “There were highs and lows and I didn't know what to do and had no control. I wish I could cancel things. It was just a painful feeling.”
