Rosie O’Donnell Reflects on Trump from Ireland
Actress Rosie O’Donnell, who relocated to Ireland earlier this year, has acknowledged that she thinks about former President Donald Trump more often than she intended. She had actually promised her therapist to go two whole days without mentioning him.
In a recent video, she remarked on Trump’s erratic social media posts, comparing them to the behavior of someone suffering from a severe mental disorder. She rhetorically asked, “When will we enact the 25th Amendment?”
“He needs to be stopped. That’s why the 25th Amendment exists,” she urged.
Jeanne Kopetic, a longtime friend, expressed that while she would like to think Trump is not on her mind too much, he invariably is. This led to a conversation in which she suggested O’Donnell needs to disconnect from the man’s influence.
O’Donnell elaborated, saying she understands the issue is beyond Trump himself, hinting at the possibility of him being involved in larger, dangerous schemes, though she questions his intelligence in orchestrating such plans.
She expressed concern that Trump’s need for attention and admiration could lead to disastrous consequences. “They’ve manipulated him into going along with dangerous actions, and that’s terrifying,” she stated.
Looking ahead, O’Donnell alarmingly claimed that if not addressed by November 2026, Trump could disrupt the U.S. elections entirely. “We need to act now, or he might use wartime conditions as justification for suspending elections,” she warned, referencing violent events in Venezuela and Nicaragua.
She went on to accuse Trump of harboring violent fantasies, even implying he may be involved in such acts. “I usually try to steer clear of posting about him, but I just have to believe he won’t be around much longer,” she added.
Earlier this month, a report indicated that O’Donnell, who seems to be unable to resist discussing Trump’s antics, had attempted to abstain from posting about him for two days—though that resolve likely didn’t last long.
After that setback, she made another appointment with her therapist, promising to attempt a three-day hiatus from Trump discussions. Yet, shortly after declaring on social media to her followers that she’d try not to engage with him at all, she ended up mentioning him yet again in the same video.
In a recent disclosure, O’Donnell also shared that her 12-year-old “non-binary” child with autism felt compelled to express their anger towards Trump, believing his actions led to their family’s decision to leave the U.S.
