Venture capitalist and LinkedIn co-founder Reid Hoffman made a vulgar joke about Donald Trump on Friday that history will likely judge harshly.
At an invitation-only gathering in Sun Valley, Idaho, hosted by Allen & Company and dubbed “Summer Camp for Billionaires,” Hoffman and estranged friend Peter Thiel, a Trump supporter, had a disagreement about Trump that led to Hoffman’s snarky comments.
Hoffman’s comments came just 24 hours before a Trump rally in Pennsylvania came to an abrupt end when gunfire rained down on him and Trump, his face bloodied, was led away by Secret Service agents.
according to Pack News:
Peter Thiel sarcastically thanked Reid Hoffman for funding a lawsuit against Trump that made him a “martyr” and improved his chances of reelection.
Hoffman quipped wryly from the stage: “Yeah, I wish they’d made him a real martyr.”

Thiel has argued that Trump and his allies are orchestrating a series of weaponized legal attacks against Trump, whom he calls “loafers,” in an effort to block President Joe Biden’s administration from taking office.
The Trump campaign released a statement saying the president was in good spirits and that more details would be released at a later date.
