‘I Worry About War in the Streets’

During this week’s episode of FNC’s “Sunday Morning Futures,” Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) reacted to the 34-count guilty verdict handed down last week against former President Donald Trump.

The Kentucky Republican said he has “much bigger” concerns beyond President Trump.

“It’s a sad day for America,” Paul said of the verdict. “I’m worried about something even bigger than Donald Trump. I’m worried about fighting. I’m worried about fighting in the streets. I’m worried about 50 percent of the country believing that the court system is biased against them. We used to be judged by the color of our skin, now we’re judged by the shade of our ideas. I’m worried about that, and I’m worried about what happens and how people react when half the country believes they’re not going to be treated fairly.”

“If you look at the record violations, Hillary Clinton got away with a light punishment, because it cost her $8 million and she only got away with an $8,000 fine,” he continued. “And that would probably be appropriate — some kind of fine for misrepresentation. But I wonder if it was misrepresentation. Was it a legal fee? It seems like it was a legal fee. I think every non-disclosure agreement is a legal fee. There are probably hundreds of non-disclosure agreements in New York City right now. And my guess is that not one of them has ever been brought to court. I think Donald Trump is the only one who’s ever been charged with this particular crime.”
