Iconic Atlanta restaurant Team Room closed indefinitely after roof collapses during torrential flash flooding

Dramatic footage of the roof collapsing on an iconic Atlanta restaurant was captured on drone video Tuesday night after heavy rain soaked the city.

Mary Mack’s Tea Room sustained significant damage, with part of its roof collapsing as more than 3 inches of rain fell across the city overnight.

It is not yet clear whether weather played a role in the incident, which resulted in the restaurant being closed indefinitely.

“We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and will notify you of a reopening date as soon as possible,” the restaurant said on Instagram.

During the first five days of the month, more than 2 inches of rain seeps into the ground and knocks down trees.

In another incident, a tree crashed into a house, trapping four people and one person pinned to a sofa in the living room.

Fortunately, firefighters were able to rescue all four people without injury.

The FOX Prediction Center says the Southeast will see a slight improvement in weather on Wednesday, but another round of showers and storms will return on Thursday.
