Such aerial operations are part of Israel’s war objectives against Hamas. Israel has had some success in targeting Hamas leaders for elimination. Israel has created a special unit to track down and eliminate the Hamas unit chiefly responsible for their Oct. 7 surprise attack that resulted in the deaths of 1,400 persons in Israel and the taking of hundreds as captives.
