Israeli Military Finds Hezbollah Weapons in Hospital
This weekend, the Israeli military announced that it had uncovered a stash of Hezbollah weapons within a hospital in Lebanon. The operation took place in the city of Bint Jubeir, and images presented by the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) show weapons, ammunition, and explosives allegedly discovered at the facility.
During this mission, the IDF stated that it had eliminated around 20 terrorists who were reportedly firing at their forces from the hospital. The IDF emphasized that Hezbollah has regularly utilized such locations for military operations, which they claim violates international law.
“Hezbollah systematically misuses the hospital grounds and nearby areas for military purposes,” stated IDF officials. They also pointed out that prior warnings had been issued to Lebanese authorities, insisting that all military actions inside hospitals should stop, but that Hezbollah continued their activities regardless.
As Israel persists with its operations against Hezbollah, the backdrop includes ongoing U.S.-Iran ceasefire discussions—a situation that remains tense.
In a press conference, U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance noted that negotiations with Iranian officials failed to yield results. He mentioned that Iran “chose not to accept our terms,” and that this might have more negative implications for Iran than for the U.S.
“We didn’t reach an agreement,” Vance remarked. He described the discussions, which dragged on for 21 hours, as “substantive,” but maintained that the U.S. would stick to its “red lines” without compromise.
Vance also shared that he had been in consistent contact with the president throughout the discussions, underscoring ongoing communication among the U.S. delegation and various administration members.
