IDF Kills Hamas Terrorists in Container at UN School in Gaza

The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Friday that they had eliminated Hamas terrorists in an airstrike on a shipping container inside the grounds of a United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) school in the Gaza Strip.

The Israel Defense Forces said in a statement:

Today (Friday), the Israeli Air Force, under the direction of IDF Intelligence and the ISA, targeted Hamas terrorists operating from a container on the grounds of the UNRWA “Asmaa” school in Shati, Gaza Strip.

The container was used as a Hamas operational headquarters and a meeting point for Hamas operatives. Hamas terrorists who were planning an imminent attack inside the operational headquarters were eliminated. Hamas terrorists carried out the terrorist attack from there, using the UN School premises as a shield for their terrorist activities. Prior to the attack, many measures were taken to mitigate civilian casualties.

The attack was carried out using precision weapons, leading to accurate strikes against terrorists.

The Hamas terrorist organization has systematically, deliberately and strategically positioned its infrastructure and operated within civilian areas, in complete violation of international law and endangering the lives of Gaza’s civilians.

Additionally, the IDF identified eight terrorists killed in an airstrike on the headquarters of another UN school in Nuseirat on Thursday morning, bringing the total number of known terrorist casualties to 17.

International media, including CNN, carried Hamas’ claims that dozens were killed in a deliberate attack on a school, rather than a targeted attack on terrorists that would have minimized civilian casualties.
