The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) said on Wednesday that it had seized more than 85,000 weapons collected by the Iranian-backed terrorist organization Hezbollah along Israel's southern border in Lebanon.
Weapons ranged from light rifles to rocket launchers and anti-aircraft missiles.
The IDF said in a statement:
In early October 2024, the IDF launched limited, localized, and targeted ground operations to dismantle Hezbollah's terrorist infrastructure in southern Lebanon.
As part of an operation led by IDF Northern Command, the troops operated against Hezbollah in more than 30 areas in southern Lebanon. Troops identified and destroyed terrorist infrastructure, eliminated terrorists, and discovered and seized numerous weapons.
The IDF seized more than 85,000 weapons, missiles and munitions, including rocket launchers, anti-tank missiles, RPGs, rifles, explosives, munitions, anti-aircraft missiles, observation equipment and military vehicles. There is currently a large display of confiscated weapons.
The seized weapons would be used by Hezbollah to attack Israeli civilians and would be deployed as part of Hezbollah's “Conquest of Galilee” invasion plan. As a result of IDF ground assaults, Hezbollah's military capabilities have been significantly reduced.
The IDF also provided photos of some of the weapons seized.
The weapons are much larger and more sophisticated than those seized from Hamas after the Oct. 7 terrorist attack that Breitbart News examined at a military base in central Israel more than a year ago.
IDF too Estimation On Tuesday, 3,800 Hezbollah operatives have been killed in the war, including 44 since the ceasefire began several weeks ago. Under ceasefire terms, Israel reserves the right to take steps to defend itself, and Hezbollah operatives have been captured trying to re-enter southern Lebanon or plant weapons.
