MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Eric Trump said Thursday in an exclusive interview with Breitbart News that if President Joe Biden withdraws from the presidential race, “his legacy will be destroyed forever.”
Breitbart News caught up with Trump outside the Fiserv Forum in downtown Milwaukee, hours before his father accepted the Republican presidential nomination in his first public speech since the near-assassination on Saturday.
“If Biden steps down, I think his legacy will be forever tarnished,” Trump said when asked what the impact would be if Biden were to step down and be replaced by Vice President Kamala Harris. “It just confirms everything that my father and all of us and everyone at Breitbart has been saying, which is that the truth has been for the last four years that he was incompetent, he was incompetent. And frankly, it’s [Harris] Doesn’t she bear a great deal of responsibility in that she should not have allowed a man who was incompetent and incompetent to remain president?”
“This is our country. This is not a game. This is important. This is the United States of America. This is the greatest superpower in the world,” he continued. “So, either way, if he declines, I think his legacy is destroyed forever. We’ll see what happens.”
As reported by Breitbart News, media reports suggest that Democratic Party officials are privately lobbying Biden to remove himself from the running.
Earlier in the interview, the 45th president’s second son responded to a question about whether Harris would be more competitive against the 45th president than Biden was by saying she would “love to take on anyone in the administration,” and that he was “confident” his father “would do that.”
“So the biggest disaster in the history of this country is the Biden-Harris administration,” he said. “Nothing is going right in this country and everybody knows it. Nothing is going right. They have no work ethic. They have no common sense. They don’t put in the effort. They don’t focus on the issues that matter. Our country has gone to hell. Our economy has gone to hell. Our border has gone to hell.”
He noted that Harris was tapped to oversee the southern border and artificial intelligence, and said she has failed miserably in those departments.
“She was supposed to address AI and she hasn’t done anything on that front, and she was supposed to address the border, which has been the biggest disaster of the last four years,” he said. “So my dad would want to run against Kamala Harris, he would want to run against Joe Biden, and we’re prepared for both.”
