Sen. Mark Kelly (D-AZ) said on CNN's “outfront” on Thursday that if the Secretary of Defense does not resign from signal chat among senior national security officials, President Donald Trump should fire him.
“When planning a mission, the most closely held information is when you launch where you go. In this case, Yemen, and when you reach the target, the weapon system you have takes time. Yemen wasn't.
He said, “It's certainly why I called for the Secretary of Defense to resign because there are pilots who are nervous about the leadership of the Department of Defense, and if he doesn't resign, the president is his right and should fire him. Incompetent people are really difficult jobs and you can really get bad results.”
