‘If it Were Tiger Woods You’d Have it’

Following the arrest of professional golfer Scottie Scheffler last week, sports commentator Stephen A. Smith accused police of being steeped in racism for not releasing any of the body camera footage of the arrest, adding, “If it were Tiger Woods, he’d be releasing it.”

The world’s No. 1-ranked golfer was arrested Friday morning outside Valhalla Golf Club in Louisville, Kentucky, and injured a police officer with his car after failing to comply with police instructions as he tried to drive into the club’s entrance. He was indicted on suspicion of doing so.

Video of the arrest taken by a bystander shows the golfer being loaded into a police car and driven away just hours before tee time.

Scheffler was hit by Fee These include second-degree assault on a police officer (a felony), third-degree criminal damage to property (a misdemeanor), reckless driving, and failure to signal a police officer while directing traffic (a misdemeanor).

Louisville Mayor Craig Greenberg said despite heavy security, Louisville police did not record Scheffler on his body camera when he was arrested, and there is no official video recording of the arrest. .

Hearing this news upset Smith, but he claimed there was no video because police were arresting black people when they were not white. Body camera video will already be everywhere.

“A mistake like that can’t happen,” Smith complained about the lack of police body camera footage that captured Scheffler’s arrest. “In our eyes, it’s not a mistake, it’s intentional. No one will believe that you conveniently forgot to turn on your body camera when arresting the No. 1 golfer in the world. No one. I don’t believe that!”

But while insisting he was not advocating racism, he went on to say: “The arrest of the world’s best golfer, who happens to be white, gives black Americans a reason to pause.”

He then interjected Tiger Woods into the situation and said that if Woods were to be arrested, it would be videotaped.

“If you’re going to consistently release videos blaming black people, please consistently release videos blaming white people…I don’t mean to suggest this is a racial incident or anything like that. No. What I’m saying is that if you leave things like that, you’re feeding the cynics who are so quick to turn to race. Where is that video? was furious. “It has to stop. Where’s the fucking video…find it! Get it! Because if it was Tiger Woods, you’d have it. If it was Tiger Woods. , I’m sure you’ll get it.”
