Andy Cohen Excited About the Return of “The Real Housewives of New Jersey”
Andy Cohen is finally able to enjoy red carpet events without worry about the future of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Recently, Bravo confirmed that familiar faces Teresa Giudice, Melissa Gorga, and Dolores Catania will be back for season 15, alongside some new ladies from the Garden State. This casting decision seems to please fans, but it brings a lot of pressure on the newcomers to spark some drama, especially to avoid another dull season revolving around the Teresa and Melissa feud.
It’s been nearly three years since the last season of Real Housewives of New Jersey aired. Back then, Teresa and Melissa were adamant about never speaking again, and the cast had split into two stubborn factions. With neither side willing to reconcile by the season’s end, Bravo opted to skip the usual reunion and halt production.
Cohen has teased changes, referring to this phase as a “reboot” and at times even likening the season 14 finale to a “series finale.” Melissa, in an April 2025 chat with DECIDER, hinted that season 15 may revisit “old stuff,” but also noted the inclusion of new cast members. There was a divide among fans—half were team Melissa, while the other half wouldn’t watch if Teresa didn’t return. Cohen hinted that the existing dynamic was no longer sustainable due to the persistent feud between the two families, and honestly, it was hard to imagine either of them backing down.
However, in late 2025, there was a shift. Teresa reached out to her brother Joe Gorga, and after a private conversation, they reconciled. The previously conflicting families made their first public appearance together at Bravocon last November, with Joe announcing during a panel, “We don’t have a team anymore!” They laid the groundwork for their return to the show, presenting a peace agreement to Cohen and Bravo executives that weekend. Soon after, the much-anticipated announcement arrived.
Cohen shared, “You can expect to see Teresa, Dolores, and Melissa. We don’t have any more announcements yet, but we’ve got a fantastic group, and this journey has been something else.” He expressed enthusiasm about delivering a great show.
Considering viewer backlash against complete cast overhauls in shows like Real Housewives of New York City and Vanderpump Rules, this strategy seems like a smart move from Bravo. There’s no denying that Teresa and Melissa bring the drama—both have strong personalities and a knack for expressing their feelings. Dolores, on the other hand, has a more conciliatory style. While she tends to avoid taking sides, her feisty side occasionally surfaces, making her a fan favorite.
With Melissa, Teresa, and Dolores returning, this means that season 14 cast members like Margaret Josephs, Jennifer Aydin, and others are out. The newcomers will need to bring the drama, too. If those “stepsisters” start bickering again, it would spell trouble for everyone involved.
For a while, it felt like no one had an identity outside of the conflict between Teresa and Melissa. In recent seasons, Aydin sided with Teresa, while Josephs aligned with Melissa. Newer cast members like Fuda and Cabral were often pulled in by the existing alliances, making their storylines revolve around those dynamics. Now, with newfound harmony, season 15 will need fresh sources of drama.
Credit where it’s due—Bravo has been nailing the casting lately. The upcoming Real Housewives of Rhode Island looks promising, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it competes closely with Real Housewives of Salt Lake City. Plus, the new stars on Summer House have blended in so well that it’s easy to forget there’s been significant turnover. I’m confident that Cohen and Bravo will introduce a new group of affluent New Jersey women who are interconnected, unafraid to stir the pot, and just charismatic enough to keep audiences engaged.
Ultimately, the key will be finding a cast that intrigues viewers. If Melissa and Teresa slip back into fighting mode and threaten their newfound bond, it could leave Cohen back at square one—which, let’s face it, he didn’t wait nearly three years just to do all this again.
Real Housewives of New Jersey is currently streaming on Peacock.
