The issue surrounding Sidney Sweeney has gained significant traction, even catching the attention of the president. If the reports about her being a registered Republican hold true, she remarked that her “advertising is great.”

While returning to Washington from New Jersey on Sunday, the president addressed ongoing speculation regarding Sweeney’s political affiliation.

“I wasn’t aware of that, but I’m glad to hear it. If Sidney Sweeney is indeed a registered Republican, I think her advertisements are fantastic,” Trump stated.

Recent reports highlighted that a commercial featuring Sweeney for American Eagle sparked outrage among certain groups. The ad featured the phrase, “Sydney Sweeney has some amazing jeans,” playing on the word “gene.” Some online activists labeled the ad as reminiscent of Nazi eugenics.

A particularly vocal TikTok user claimed the ads were so offensive that they could end up “in a history book,” while expressing her outrage as a heavily tattooed individual. “It’s Nazi propaganda,” she exclaimed.

Another user described the commercial as an “Eugenics Advertisement,” accusing American Eagle of using “fassy coded” concepts and suggesting that they aimed to “revive the Third Reich.”

Additionally, a left-wing woman, who also commented on the video with a burp, stated that the ad was meant to “seat blacks and brown women.”

The media also fanned the flames, with several outlets calling the advertisement “controversial” or even labeling it as a shift towards “whiteness.” White House communications manager Stephen Chang remarked that the backlash contributed to Trump’s success in the 2024 election, noting that people are “fed up with this nonsense.”

Chung stated, “The cancel culture isn’t just a fad. This kind of misguided, dense liberal thinking is a major reason why Americans cast their votes the way they did in 2024. They’re exhausted by this nonsense.”

As Sidney Sweeney has chosen to remain silent, American Eagle continues to support the original ad without issuing an apology. Reports indicate that Sweeney has been a registered Republican in Florida since 2024.

Sweeney has neither confirmed nor denied these claims.
