Ilhan Omar labels Trump a 'creep' following his call for her resignation over 'fake name' claims.

Omar Responds to Trump’s Allegations

Representative Ilhan Omar, a Democrat from Minnesota, recently expressed her frustration towards President Donald Trump after he claimed she used a fake name and brought up historical allegations about her previous marriage.

In a post on X, Omar criticized Trump, saying, “The pedophile protection party’s president is laundering right-wing conspiracy theories through the most corrupt DOJ in American history.” She added, “Whenever the news turns bad, this creep reaches for one name: mine. So let’s make it crystal clear. My name has always been Ilhan Omar.”

Omar didn’t stop there; she also directed her ire at Vice President JD Vance, remarking, “Maybe you should focus on what your VP’s real name is.”

Trump had called for Omar’s resignation after a report suggested that her birth name is Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, as per sources involved in a federal investigation. A recent Department of Justice document noted her as “Congresswoman Ilhan Nur Said Elmi, a/k/a Ilhan Abdullahi Omar.”

However, Omar’s office pushed back against Fox News Digital’s reporting, firmly stating, “Ilhan Omar is her real name.” It’s worth mentioning that she has not been charged with any wrongdoing.

In the midst of this, Trump reiterated his accusations on Truth Social, asserting that Omar does not go by her real name and repeating allegations suggesting that her former husband, Ahmed Nur Said Elmi, may be her brother—claims she has consistently denied. He highlighted that the name found in the DOJ documents appears connected to her marriage.

When asked in a recent MS NOW interview if there was any familial link to Elmi, Omar responded, “Not to my knowledge,” although her spokesperson later clarified that the comment was meant to be sarcastic, emphasizing that Omar has “repeatedly and unequivocally” denied any such claims.

Currently, federal investigators are looking into whether Omar or her father provided false information on immigration documents. Recently, agents conducted a search of her residence in Washington, D.C., taking items like her cellphone and passport, while her sister has also been interviewed as part of this inquiry.
