Congresswoman Ilhan Omar has come under fire after delivering a speech in which she pledged allegiance to “Somalis first and Muslims second.”
“Many Somalis have called me personally and encouraged me to talk to the U.S. government and help Somalia,” Omar told the audience. “My answer to the Somalis was that the U.S. government would only do what the Somalis in the United States told them to do.”
“They will only do what we want and nothing else. They have to follow our orders and that is how we protect Somalia’s interests.” she continued. “The United States is a country where one of your daughters (myself) is in Congress representing your interests.”
Pat Gray and Keith Marinak weren’t surprised, but they weren’t pleased either.
“Has she been deported yet?” Marinak asks. Gray responded with another question, “Was she forced out of her job?”
“I don’t care if you deport her or not. Get her out of office. That’s outrageous,” Gray added.
Gray believes this is the most “terrible” thing he has ever heard from a U.S. representative.
“They’re talking about their own country in their own language and with their interests more in mind than America’s,” Gray scoffs.
