Ilhan Omar’s Daughter Promotes Fundraiser for Detained Pro-Hamas Activist Mahmoud Khalil

Isla Hirsi, daughter of Ilhan Omar, daughter of Minnesota “Squad” member, has facilitated the fundraising campaign for Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University alumnus who was arrested and is now facing his role in violent campus activities.

Fundraising activitieswhich has so far surpassed $360,000 and surpassed its initial $250,000 target, after Immigration Customs Enforcement (ICE) began after Khalil took detention.

The organizers then raised their target to $500,000. The funds support Khalil's legal defense, provide financial assistance to his family, contribute to “long-term justice efforts” and help authorities “take responsibility” in his detention.

“Before his detention he was targeted by a coordinated smear campaign, with individuals mistakenly framing his behaviorism as a criminal act,” the campaign said.

Hirsi, a senior at Bernard University and activist on both sides, shared fundraisers on Instagram, urging his followers to contribute. She later criticized Colombian faculty for staying silent about Colombian arrests, calling their response “shameful behavior.”

Halil is a student organization at Columbia University Apartheid Dibust (CUAD) who worked as a senior activist seeking “a complete eradication of Western civilization,” and has been accused of being “a Hamas empath in favor of violent anti-American views.”

Several videos have since been released, showing violent and destructive campus activities allegedly led by Halil.

In one clip, we see Khalil dressed in a parka featuring Hamas spokesman Abu Obaida, urging the protesters to “destroy” and “explode the Zionist head.”

On Monday, the judge temporarily suspended Khalil's deportation against the Trump administration.

Hirsi was before Paused Bernard, a liberal arts college belonging to Columbia University, and his involvement with the unauthorized “Gaza Solidarity Camp,” which was dismantled by NYPD officers. In response, her mother, Somali-born Democrat Ilhan Omar (MN), said she was “very proud” of her daughter.

This issue will bring Omar, famous for her anti-Semitic sentiment, to continue pushing for the immediate release of Mahmoud Khalil.

“We will not trample any voices that this administration does not like our constitutional rights and voices of silence,” she wrote.

In August, Omar touted the power of a massive, radical pro-Palestinian “uncommitted” movement in her district. Called Due to the “policy shift” between Israel and Gaza amid fears of another President Trump.

She warned then-President Kamala Harris that she could refuse to surrender to the movement.

A member of the parliament's progressive “squad” Omar has a history of controversy.

She has been repeatedly accused of being anti-Semitic and anti-American, including past statements accusing Israel of “hypnotizing the world” and claiming that the pro-Israel stance of politicians of “it's about Benjamin.”

In 2023, then house speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) argued that Omar was “inappropriate” to represent the United States on the House Foreign Affairs Committee.
