Ilhan Omar's spouse reacts to claims that she left the US after their home in DC was searched by federal agents.

Ilhan Omar, the Democratic Congresswoman from Minnesota, hasn’t made any public appearances since federal agents conducted a raid on her Washington, D.C., home earlier this week. However, her husband, Tim Mynett, was seen more than once leaving their rental residence as he walked their Golden Labrador Retriever, Teddy.

On Wednesday, Mynett was spotted taking Teddy for a stroll in the neighborhood and again later that day, going out to dispose of the trash. He was also seen accompanying one of Omar’s staff members outside.

When approached about rumors that Omar had left the country, Mynett, while walking Teddy, dismissed the questions, saying, “You guys are annoying the hell out of all the neighbors around here, man,” in response to inquiries from Fox News Digital regarding the recent developments and Trump’s comments on the situation.

On the same day, Omar’s staff member was photographed entering their home carrying two large bags of food from Burger King, escorted by security to the door while remaining stationed outside after she went inside with the meal.

Speculation arose that Omar might have fled the country following the raid by Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), focusing on her immigration paperwork as part of a criminal fraud investigation, as first reported by Fox News Digital. Notably, federal agents reportedly seized Omar’s cellphone and passport during the search.

Reports emerged that Omar’s birth year was altered from 1981 to 1982 in official records, raising questions about the validity of her citizenship since she would have been 18, no longer a minor, had she been born in 1981. This adjustment came into play during her service in Minnesota’s House and into her term in Congress.

When questioned about the federal investigation earlier this week, Mynett expressed no worries about what authorities might uncover regarding Omar’s immigration history. He stated, “My wife came here when she was 12 years old as a child war refugee. No concerns.”

This comment followed reports that some of Omar’s relatives had been issued subpoenas as part of the HSI investigation, including at least one who is reportedly her sister, Sahra Noor.

Fox News Digital also questioned Mynett regarding President Trump’s remarks on Omar’s reported net worth, which the president alleged had inconsistencies. Trump noted that Omar had previously reported a net worth of up to $30 million before quickly claiming it was actually around $100,000. There were implications that this discrepancy might be connected to financial activities in Minnesota, suggesting that the initial figure might have represented money tied to fraudulent activities.

Mynett found himself at the center of yet another investigation, this time concerning Omar’s financial disclosures about their combined assets. Following the HSI raid, U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro indicated that her office is also examining the couple’s financial statements.

Scrutiny surrounding Omar’s finances heightened as her 2024 disclosures revealed substantial business interests associated with Mynett, initially valued between $6 million and $30 million. However, Omar’s office later claimed these figures were mistaken and amended the filing.

Notably, Mynett’s assets, which were previously reported to be worth millions in both his winery and venture capital firm, are now listed as having no value. In the latest financial disclosure, Mynett’s equity interests in both businesses have been set to $0.

Omar’s office clarified that Mynett has partners in these ventures, and the original disclosures erroneously reflected total equity rather than his share, also failing to consider liabilities. Officials noted that the investigation into Omar’s finances is separate from the raid on her home.
