"I'll ... End Your Life Right Now": Chicago Anti-ICE Protester Reportedly Threatened Federal Agents

Paul O’Berry is accused of threatening and assaulting a U.S. Border Patrol officer outside an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) facility near Chicago, Illinois, according to court documents.

Reportedly, during the incident, O’Berry yelled threats at the officer, indicating he would harm him. Details suggest a scuffle occurred as O’Berry attempted to escape by jumping into a civilian car. The officers involved faced difficulties, with one mentioning exposure to pepper spray used nearby.

Ultimately, law enforcement managed to take O’Berry into custody.

Recently, a tweet from the Department of Homeland Security noted that arrests were made outside an ICE detention facility in Chicago, where multiple violent individuals were apprehended along with firearms.

O’Berry had previously taken part in protests against immigration enforcement at ICE locations, while Border Patrol agents were tasked with ensuring safe vehicle movement at the facility.

He faces charges related to assaulting a federal officer, along with three others who also protested and were subsequently charged with federal offenses.

One co-defendant, Huber Mazur, allegedly resisted arrest during a physical confrontation with an agent. Meanwhile, other protesters, Ray Collins and Jocelyn Robredo, disregarded orders to leave, with Robledo reportedly found carrying a loaded gun. Witness accounts indicate Collins injured an officer during the chaos.

The Department of Homeland Security has not yet commented on these developments.
