An illegal alien has been charged with killing Jack Price, 27, the father of a 5-year-old boy, in a hit-and-run accident on a reservation in Montgomery County, Maryland.
A 42-year-old illegal immigrant, Gilbert Yuviny Celaya Diaz, was arrested. Paid Price died after prosecutors said he hit the young father, who was skateboarding at the time, and then fled the scene of the accident.
On April 8, prosecutors said Diaz was driving without a license when he hit Price, who was skateboarding. Diaz allegedly fled the scene, leaving Price on the ground.
Diaz is an illegal immigrant and was on probation at the time of the fatal crash, prosecutors said. Diaz was recently released from federal prison, but prosecutors said he failed to appear in court on five separate occasions.
Diaz had previously been arrested on drug charges, as well as assault and armed robbery charges. Prosecutors say he was not deported even though he had been in the United States illegally since 2019.
Price, who has a 5-year-old son named Jamie, was an avid skateboarder. His twin brother Joshua, who had just celebrated his birthday together on March 11, wrote that Price’s death was devastating.
