An illegal alien is accused of killing a senior adviser to Sen. Catherine Cortez Masto (D-Nev.) in a fatal hit-and-run crash in Washoe County, Nevada.
Elmer Rueda-Linares, an 18-year-old illegal alien, was arrested by the Washoe County Sheriff’s Office and charged in the death of 38-year-old Kurt Englehart, Cortez Masto’s father and senior state counselor.
On April 6, police say Rueda Linares was driving the car when the suspect was driving. crashed They broke into Inglehart and fled the scene. When police arrived, Rueda-Linares was nowhere to be found and Inglehart was found dead in the car.
Rueda-Linares was originally charged with a felony hit-and-run, but that charge was downgraded to a single charge of failure to stop at the scene of an accident.
On Wednesday, Reno Gazette Journal revealed Leuda-Linares is an illegal immigrant who recently arrived at the U.S.-Mexico border and was released into the interior, officials said.
