Illegal Alien Accused of Killing 48-Year-Old Jennifer Ann Morton

An illegal immigrant who crossed the U.S.-Mexico border undetected is accused of killing 48-year-old Jennifer Ann Morton in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Maynooth Yair Salt Herrera, a 30-year-old illegal immigrant from Honduras, was arrested. Charged Negligence resulting in death, DUI, weapons possession violations, reckless driving, driving without a license, failure to stop after a fatal accident and other traffic violations.

According to Arkansas State Police, Salt Herrera was driving southbound on Sept. 8 when he crossed into the northbound lanes and struck Morton's vehicle head-on.

When police arrived at the scene of the accident, they found Salt-Herrera attempting to flee the scene. He was taken into police custody.

According to the US Border Patrol, Salto Herrera first crossed the southern border near Laredo, Texas, in October 2018. Border Patrol agents returned him to Honduras the following month, but on an unknown date later, he managed to cross the border undetected by Border Patrol agents.

Morton was a longtime resident of Little Rock. She worked as a respiratory therapist at Arkansas Children's Hospital for 24 years and “had a passion for caring for children,” her obituary said. read.

Morton is survived by his parents, a brother, two nephews and several other family members.

Solt-Herrera remains in custody at the Pulaski County Detention Center. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detention order against him, requesting that he be held if released at any time.
