An illegal alien in Kenner, Louisiana, is accused of raping a 14-year-old girl before carrying out a violent armed robbery.
Angel Matias Castellanos Orellana, 19, an illegal immigrant from Honduras, was arrested by the Kenner Police Department on February 25 on suspicion of committing an armed robbery and stabbing the victim, who was recovering at a nearby hospital. .
In addition to armed robbery and aggravated assault, Castellanos-Orellana was charged with first-degree rape and aggravated assault after police say he raped and assaulted a 14-year-old girl in the area.
“Illegal immigration continues to be a challenge for local law enforcement for a variety of reasons. Lack of access to data, false identification, and language barriers place local law enforcement at a significant disadvantage. ,” said Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley. statement:
We cannot verify that illegal aliens are providing correct information regarding their name and date of birth. This not only wastes police resources, it also wastes local police budgets and taxpayer funds. In 25 days, this illegal alien has caused fear in our community. I’m glad he left our city, but will he come back? Will he take on a new identity? What other crimes has he committed since crossing our border? [Emphasis added]
Castellanos-Orellana remains in local custody, and Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) has issued a detainer requesting his custody.
