An illegal immigrant has been charged with sexually abusing a 5-year-old girl inside his Florida home.
Nicolas Jose Francisco, 25, was arrested Friday and charged with two counts of sexual assault of a child under 12. The suspect was being held in the Palm Beach County Jail without bail.
Francisco later “apologized and acknowledged that his actions and actions were wrong,” the arrest report said.
Francisco, who is said to be from Guatemala, worked for the girl's family for more than a year and “earned their trust.” arrest report. He is accused of sexually abusing her twice.
WFLX-TV According to reports, the girl told police on December 13 that Francisco sexually assaulted her in the garage and bathroom of his home. Francisco summoned the girl to the garage, where she allegedly told police she had “touched the flowers” in what was described as her private area. WPEC-TV Reported.
In the second incident, the girl claims Francisco took her to the bathroom, where he exposed himself and touched her inappropriately.
The girl sobbed to a Florida Department of Children and Families caseworker as she recalled her description of the alleged incident, according to the arrest report.
Francisco initially claimed the charges were false and that his family had fabricated them because he was an “illegal immigrant.”
Francisco also told a Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office deputy that he touched the girl “both times by mistake,” the complaint said. The suspect claimed he was trying to help the girl go to the bathroom.
However, investigators found there were no restrooms near the garage.
Francisco later “apologized and acknowledged that his actions and actions were wrong,” the arrest report said.
