Illegal Alien Found Guilty of Murdering Laken Riley in Georgia

A member of the Torren de Aragua gang of illegal aliens who killed 22-year-old nursing student Laken Riley in Athens, Georgia in February has been found guilty on all charges. The felon had been released into the United States from the southern border by the administration of President Joe Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris and given a work permit.

On Wednesday, an Athens judge charged Josen Riley, an undocumented immigrant from Venezuela, with stalking and then killing Laken Riley during an early morning jog around the University of Georgia (UGA) campus on February 22, 2024. Antonio Ibarra was found guilty.

Ybarra faces life in prison without the possibility of parole.

On the day Riley was killed, she was jogging along her usual route without incident. Riley was an avid runner and a student at Augusta University's School of Nursing.

When Riley didn't return after jogging, her roommate looked for her and called UGA police. Riley's body was found beaten in a wooded area on the UGA campus. The next day, Ybarra was arrested and charged with Riley's murder.

Ybarra crossed the U.S.-Mexico border near El Paso, Texas, on September 8, 2022. The Department of Homeland Security (DHS), led by Biden and Harris, paroled Ybarra and released him in the interior of the United States, citing a lack of space to hold more than 8,000 people. Detention beds were available at the time.

That same month, Ybarra finally arrived in the sanctuary city of New York City, New York, where he requested a “humanitarian flight” to Georgia.

In November 2023, just months before Riley's murder, Ybarra applied for an Employment Authorization Document (EAD) with U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).

On December 9, 2023, Ibarra's work permit application was approved.

In July 2023, before securing a work permit, Ybarra reported to an Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) officer in New York City for a biometric appointment, where she was fingerprinted. The results of these fingerprints indicate that Ibarra had a past criminal history.

On September 14, 2023, Ibarra was arrested for conduct likely to endanger a child. Despite the accusations, Ibarra was not charged and the arrest was quashed.
