Illegal immigration decreased by 93% in April compared to the previous administration.

Recent data from U.S. Customs and Border Protection indicates a significant decline in U.S. border-related issues, dropping by 93% during Donald Trump’s presidency. This information was shared on Monday.

According to CBP, the average daily concerns at the tropical border in April were markedly reduced compared to the 4,297 concerns reported in the same month of the previous year. Overall concerns for April this year reached 8,383, a stark contrast to the 129,000 recorded last year.

CBP officials also highlighted that only five individuals were temporarily admitted to the U.S. in April, a drastic decrease from 68,000 during the same month last year.

“For the first time in years, we have more agents actively patrolling areas that were previously underserved just six months ago,” said Pete Flores, who chairs the CBP committee. “This shift in the administration’s focus on border security has allowed us to gain actual operational control.”

CBP also reported a 15% increase in drug-related incidents from March to April, with authorities seizing approximately 758 pounds of fentanyl in the past month.

The report suggests that the Trump administration has made strides in border control since March. Interestingly, CBP documented the lowest number of southwest border crossings ever recorded in March, with fewer issues across the entire month than just the first two days of March 2024 under the Biden administration.

Border Patrol apprehended 7,181 undocumented individuals crossing the southern boundary between checkpoints in March, marking a 14% decrease from February’s 8,346 arrests and a staggering 95% drop from the 137,473 arrests made in 2024 during the Biden administration.

“People are getting the message: If you cross the border illegally, deportation will follow,” CBP concluded in its latest report.
