‘I’m Bringing Columbus Day Back from the Ashes’

President Donald Trump announced on Sunday that he would “return Columbus Day from ashes from ashes” after loving 15th-century Italian explorer Christopher Columbus, who “does everything the Democrats could to destroy.”

“I’ll bring Columbus Day back from the ashes,” President Trump said in Sunday’s Truth Social Post. “The Democrats have done everything they can to destroy Christopher Columbus, his reputation, and all the Italians who love him so much.”

The 45th and 47th presidents added that Democrats “teared his statue, ‘wake’, or worse, they haven’t done anything.”

“Well, you’re happy to know, Christopher is going to make a big comeback,” declared President Trump. “This is what I am reviving Columbus Day under the same rules, dates and locations.

Trump’s Columbus Day declaration arrived shortly after the president and the first lady of President Melania Trump flying to Rome, Italy, where he attended Pope Francis’ funeral with other world leaders paying homage to the Pope who left on Saturday.

As reported by Breitbart News, the origins of Columbus Day – commemorating Christopher Columbus – comes from efforts to combat racism with Italian immigrants.

However, in an age of cancellation culture and affection, Italian-Americans have found themselves facing a new type of mob. They are trying to discard the federal holiday celebrating Italian immigration and replace it with “Indigenous Day.”

In October 2021, then-President Joe Biden issued the first-ever presidential declaration for Indigenous People’s Day, employing a long-stopped practice to the left as an alternative to Columbus Day.
