A woman from Florida was taken into custody after allegedly making a drunken bomb threat directed at the University of Central Florida shortly after her night out.
Christine Gali, 29, contacted UCF Student Care Services on May 22. At the time, she was intoxicated and reportedly wandered around proclaiming, “I’m going to blow you away.” It’s noted that she hung up without much coherence.
A puzzled worker at the center attempted to reach out to her again, but she didn’t answer. Fortunately for them, staff managed to identify her fairly quickly through her voicemail and phone number in their call history.
Simultaneously, Gali is said to have sent over 200 “inconsistent” messages and selfies to UCF professors listed in the call logs.
The following day, police located Gali, and she confessed to making the call, stating she felt “angry” and “thought it was funny,” according to reports.
Gali was promptly arrested and is facing charges for falsely reporting a bomb threat on state property and improper use of communication devices.
In her mug shot, Gali appeared bewildered as she looked into the camera.
She’s set to appear in court on August 21.
This incident is just another example of questionable behaviors in Florida. For instance, last year, an elderly man jokingly referenced a bomb at the airport, stating, “If the bomb in my bag disappears prematurely, I apologize to your family in advance.” Additionally, another Florida man was arrested after accidentally discussing a bombing plan with an undercover FBI agent, targeting the New York Stock Exchange.
