‘I’m Not a Big Fan of FISA; I Think It’s Terrible’

Former President Donald Trump held a joint press conference with House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-Louisiana) on Friday at Mar-a-Lago in Palm Beach, Florida, and criticized the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA).

In response to a reporter’s question: “Do you support the House’s FISA bill?” [inaudible]…” President Trump said, “I’m not a big fan of FISA.”

“I’ve seen it, I’ve studied it, and I probably know it more than anyone. You know, they were spying on my campaign. You know that, right? And they He did a lot of other bad things,” Trump said.

He added that the bill would expire in two years and if he regained the White House, it would be during the second administration.

They’re putting a lot of checks and balances on it, and it’s probably been shortened to less than two years, so it’s going to be due early in my administration, based on the criteria that we follow the polls. Probably. The next game just came out and we have a big lead, but it’s coming soon. I said, “Do what you want.” But I’m not a big fan of FISA. I think that’s terrible.

The session, which focused on election integrity, introduced an amendment to a bill called the Information Reform and Security for America Act (RISAA) that would reauthorize Section 702, which would require a warrant to monitor Americans’ communications. This came hours after 86 House Republicans rejected the bill. FISA.

As Breitbart News Policy reporter Sean Moran pointed out in a Friday article, “Section 702 is a law that targets foreign adversaries, but it often does not allow access to Americans’ private communications without a warrant.” I’m monitoring it.”

FOX News White House Correspondent Jackie Heinrich I got it. On Wednesday, it was announced that Section 702 is separate from FISA Title 1, which was “used in 2016 to improperly surveil Trump campaign official Carter Page.”

FISA Title 1 is also a permanent law and will not be updated like Section 702, according to Heinrich.
