On Friday's broadcast of HBO's “Real Time,” host Bill Maher said President-elect Donald Trump “talks like a fascist,” while “talking about Arnold Palmer's penis” or calling him names. “I say things that everyone thinks the same way,'' he said. “It's a shitty country,” he thinks, but he doesn't mean to be as angry as he is. “That's because you're crazy.”
Maher said that the “most important thing” about this election is that the reason things are so peaceful is because Democrats believe they will lose the election, and they lost, while Republicans lost. He said this was because he did not recognize it.
She added, “I just want to say to my friends on the right…they all think the same way about Trump, and he says a lot of terrible things. Well, you won this. Let's see if that shitty doctrine is true or not. But stop it, you win. So, right-wing friends, you can afford to be lenient now, and we're talking about fascism. When you're worried, understand that it's because he speaks like a fascist and we're not plucking it out of thin air.”
Afterwards he said: “I'm not trying to drag me into Trump Derangement Syndrome. I'm not crazy to be upset or worried about real things. Like, he might be a fascist…but if I'm meant to think that, I'm going to chase all the rabbits down the hole…for the next four years, you're wrong.''
Maher added: I won't do it again. That's him. When he talks about Arnold Palmer's penis, when he calls names, when he says things that make everyone think like there's a shitty country, I'm not going to be disappointed in that, That's crazy because I'm not. That's him. ”
