‘I’m Scared to Death’ About the Election, Harris Needs to Be ‘Much More Aggressive’

Democratic strategist James Carville said Wednesday on MSNBC's “The Beat” that he was “scared to death” about the election and that the Harris-Waltz campaign needs to be “more aggressive.”

“All I can feel is that the election is coming up on November 5th. I'm scared to death,” Carville said.

Host Ari Melber asked, “Don't you feel remorseful?”

Carville said, “I don't feel particularly remorseful right now. I'm very worried.”

Melber said, “What does Harris need to do in the remaining month?”

“She doesn't have a month left,” Carville said. “We have 26 days. After today, we'll have lost four more people to the hurricane. Just subtract that. It's a blank slate about that.” So you won't be able to go out much for the next four days. And everything will be shut down on the Saturday before the election. So you probably have 20 days to really get your message out. They need to be aggressive. They need to stop answering questions and start asking questions.

He added: “I think she and the entire campaign need to be much more active and less passive than they are.”
