I'm simply a goofy girl

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY), a possible candidate for the 2028 Democratic presidential nomination, found herself the target of social media attacks from President Trump on Tuesday. In response, she referred to herself as a “stupid girl” after Trump labeled her one of the “silliest” members of Congress.

On X, she said, “President, don’t take your anger out on me – I’m just a stupid girl,” and noted that he should take his grievances to the American public and those who have led him to violate the Constitution by engaging in military action against Iran.

The president’s comments included an unusual directive for her to return to her home district in Queens to address the issues there instead of complaining about his actions.

Additionally, he remarked that lawmakers like Ocasio-Cortez should be subjected to cognitive testing like those administered at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center.

In her retort, Ocasio-Cortez emphasized that Trump has failed to keep nearly all of his campaign promises since the onset of his 2024 presidential campaign, quipping, “It took you five months to break almost every promise you made.”

She also highlighted her Bronx roots, asserting her resilience with a playful comment about being able to handle challenges from Queens.

Meanwhile, Rep. Al Green’s (D-Texas) attempt to block the Iranian strikes was unsuccessful, as most of the House, including Republicans, chose to set aside the matter. Ocasio-Cortez voted against a measure accusing the president of abusing his power with military actions in Iran.

Trump, having endured two impeachment attempts during his first term, seems poised to navigate similar political waters again, declaring with a somewhat defiant tone, “Make my day!”
