Nick Reiner Arrested for Suspected Murder of Parents

Dramatic photos depict the moment Nick Reiner was taken into custody on suspicion of murdering his parents, Rob Reiner and Michelle Reiner. Some of the first images released by the Los Angeles Police Department (LAPD) show officers surrounding the 32-year-old man as he is subdued. Another image captures Nick, handcuffed, next to a police car.

Nick Reiner has been confirmed as the suspect in the deaths of “The Princess Bride” director Rob Reiner and his wife Michelle Singer Reiner. He is set to appear in a Los Angeles courtroom on Tuesday morning.

On December 14, 2025, around 3:40 p.m., LAPD officers responded to a call about a death investigation on South Chadbourne Avenue. When they entered the home, they discovered two victims, later identified as Robert and Michelle Reiner. The Robbery/Homicide Division’s Special Unit began investigating the circumstances surrounding their deaths, the LAPD stated.

Details surrounding Nick Reiner’s struggles with addiction and instability have come to light following his parents’ deaths.

The initial findings suggest that both Rob and Michelle Reiner were homicide victims. The police investigation ultimately pointed to their son, Nick, as the alleged perpetrator.

Authorities have announced that Nick Reiner is being held without bail on murder charges.

Friends shared with the Los Angeles Times that just before the murders, Nick had a loud argument with his parents at a Christmas party hosted by Conan O’Brien. Reports indicate that Rob and Michelle left the gathering after this altercation.

Following his arrest, Nick Reiner was transferred to Twin Towers Correctional Facility. Initially held at the Metropolitan Detention Center, he was later moved to the Inmate Reception Center in Los Angeles.

Currently, online records show that Twin Towers Correctional Facility is listed as his permanent residence.
