Iman Shumpert, ex-husband of Teyana Taylor, faces allegations of assaulting a woman during a recent dispute.
As per a report from CAD obtained by Page Six, police responded to a call regarding a “fight or domestic dispute” at Shumpert’s home in South Fulton County, Georgia, at 4:37 a.m. on November 26. Upon arrival, officers noticed Shumpert, shirtless, leaving a suitcase outside the house along with a woman named Joanna Donezeur.
Shumpert informed the police that he had asked Donezeur several times to exit the premises.
Donezeur mentioned to authorities that the altercation may have escalated after she perceived Shumpert was communicating with another woman. She accused the former NBA player, age 35, of “grabbing her by her wrists and legs,” dragging her toward the staircase, and “beating” her as well.
Another individual present at the scene offered a different account, stating that Shumpert only grabbed Donezeur’s wrist to lead him outside, without aggression.
Police stayed on-site until Donezeur vacated the property. Body camera footage from the incident captured her discussing the events with law enforcement. In the recording, the police suggested she wait for a vehicle outside, which she declined to do.
After gathering her belongings, Donezeur allegedly told Shumpert, “I’ll see you in the morning in court and on Instagram.”
The officers reported that Donezeur exhibited “no visible injuries,” according to the information acquired by Page Six.
In response, Shumpert stated, “Last week, I had a friend over and was politely asked to leave multiple times after I witnessed a woman damage my personal property while visiting my residence.” He emphasized that “this matter was closed quickly that night” following the investigation.
Shumpert further explained that police were invited inside and spoke to multiple witnesses. After evaluating the circumstances, he claimed, law enforcement asked Donezeur to leave several times, and she complied only after being escorted by the officers.
This incident occurred after Shumpert’s marriage to Taylor, which lasted from 2016 to 2023. Taylor had previously accused him of being emotionally abusive and insecure regarding his fame. Currently, she is reportedly dating actor Aaron Pierre.
