Republican lawmakers arriving at the Iowa caucuses on Monday night told CNN's Doorway pollsters that immigration is a top issue heading into the 2024 presidential election.
As Republicans head into the Iowa caucuses, 37% to 40% of caucusgoers said immigration is the biggest issue. This shows that President Joe Biden's handling of illegal immigration at the U.S.-Mexico border is a key motivator for many Republican voters. today.
Caucus participants cited the economy, abortion and foreign policy as reasons behind immigration. About 35% of caucus participants said the economy was their top issue, 11% said abortion, and another 11% said foreign policy.
