Elizabeth Holmes, the jailed former CEO of Theranos, made a vague yet menacing statement aimed at those she believes have compromised her child’s well-being. Her words, filled with intense emotion, were shared on her X account.
In her post, she included an AI-created image that shows a woman resembling her, holding a match against the backdrop of a burning bridge.
The message started off with, “I don’t get angry often. Tonight, I am.”
Holmes expressed concern, stating, “People put my child’s health and safety at risk. They knowingly and consciously chose this path.”
She ominously added, “If protecting my child means burning bridges, I’ll burn them to light the way.”
Her closing line was, “Time to sleep. I’ll grab the match tomorrow.”
Holmes, once the face of the failed blood testing company Theranos, was found guilty in 2022 on multiple charges, including defrauding investors.
She is the mother of two children, a five-year-old son named William and a three-year-old daughter named Invicta, with her husband Billy Evans. Notably, Invicta was born just three months before Holmes began her prison sentence.
Despite serving an 11-year term at Federal Prison Camp Bryan in Texas, Holmes’ X account remains operational. It resurfaced in September 2025, though it’s unclear if she manages it herself.
Her bio suggests that her words are being shared by others, hinting at a collaborative effort in maintaining her presence online.
Recently, the account has been promoting a new documentary featuring Nathan Fielder, titled “You Can See Everything,” which chronicles Holmes’ turbulent journey from Silicon Valley luminary to criminal.
The documentary’s trailer features Fielder eliciting strong emotions from Holmes and questioning her husband about his suspicions of her possible deceit.
Holmes was accused of misleading investors from 2010 to 2015 by claiming her technology could perform numerous tests with just a single drop of blood. She is scheduled for potential early release on December 30, 2031.
The motivation for her recent post remains ambiguous, and when a user questioned whether it was a threat, Holmes responded that it was “a promise.”
Despite her situation, sources indicated that Holmes can see her children twice a week, but each farewell is heart-wrenching. She reflected on how painful it is to watch her loved ones leave, emphasizing the stark reality of her imprisonment.
