Senate minority leader Chuck Schumer (D-NY) argued Sunday on NBC's “Meet the Press” in 2026 that Congressional Republicans will “feel like a sunken ship rat.”
Host Kristen Welker said, “Some Democrats want leadership to show more battles at this moment. They think that's what it's necessary and you were working hard to encourage President Biden from the 2024 race when he wasn't convinced.
Schumer said, “Absolutely not. I was convinced of this. In my caucus, some people voted in one way, some people voted for the other, but we all saw the other side feeling very strongly about it, so we all respected everyone.
“Our goal, our plan is to make Donald Trump the fastest glitter duck in modern history by showing how bad his policies are. He, as I said, represents the average people. What's already tense is that he won't hold a town hall meeting.
