The Cleveland Browns are in a familiar state of despair this season. It’s not unusual for teams to struggle, but it seems to be a recurring theme for the Browns.

This particular outcry comes from 92.3-year-old Cleveland sports talk radio host Ken Carman. He’s had enough of the team’s recent troubles and is advocating for rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders to take the helm.

“Four blowout losses in one NFL season. Four times! And it’s not even Halloween yet. That’s just insane!” Carman exclaimed following Cleveland’s latest defeat, a 32-13 loss to the Patriots in Foxborough.

“This marks Cleveland’s third loss by a margin of three points and their fourth loss by at least 14,” a source reported.

“I’m not upset with the locker room either,” Carman added. “I actually think there’s still some culture remaining… I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I do think so.” He noted that some players seem hesitant when in the locker room, which shouldn’t be the case. “It’s either the offense isn’t functioning right or there’s some other issue. Regardless, they need to bounce back. There’s not much we can do this season, and the offseason remains uncertain.”

“You know what? Maybe it’s time to have some fun. [Sanders] is ready. Let’s give him a shot. Bring him out and see what he can do. The Jets just won and seem ready to coast the rest of the year. This seems like the perfect opportunity. I honestly don’t care about what happened yesterday anymore.”

Sadly for Carman and the many Browns supporters who share his views, it looks like they’ll have to wait a bit longer to see changes.

“My focus is where we stand right now,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski mentioned when asked about starting Sanders, especially after fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel struggled against the Patriots.

Next, the Browns are set to face the Jets, who scored 39 points in a recent game against the Bengals. To highlight how stark that is for Browns fans, it’s not just more points than the Browns have managed in any single game this year, but it also nearly accounts for a third of their total season score of 126 points across all eight games.

The Browns are on a bye week, making it a potentially ideal time to consider starting Sanders against the Jets, as they will have an additional week to prepare.

The upcoming matchup between the Jets and Browns is notable, but not in a reassuring way for fans of either team. Both groups are collectively looking at just three wins this season, which means the loser will likely have a greater shot at securing the No. 1 overall draft pick.

As Week 10 approaches, the expected battle for the bottom position that many Browns fans envisioned hasn’t materialized. However, this isn’t entirely uncharted territory for them, either.
