That’s quite a hefty sum.
In-N-Out has disclosed the surprising salaries of its managers at the popular California fast food chain. According to a statement made to Inc, the average annual salary for managers now exceeds $200,000.
“Our founders, Harry and Esther Snyder, believed in not only prioritizing customer satisfaction but also in taking exceptional care of our Associates,” a spokesperson for In-N-Out explained.
“Their philosophy centered on treating Associates like family and striving to be a great employer; paying above-average wages was a significant part of that approach,” they added.
This indicates that managers at In-N-Out earn more than many software engineers or accountants in California, as noted in the article.
Data from Indeed shows that the average base salary for a fast food manager in California is around $68,774.
Under the leadership of current owner and president Lynsi Snyder, the company has been focused on providing competitive pay, solid benefits, a positive work environment, and opportunities for advancement.
In fact, In-N-Out reported that managers tend to stay with the company for over 15 years, which is roughly seven times the average tenure of managers at quick-service restaurants.
Salaries within the company have been on the rise over the years. Back in 2018, Forbes highlighted that average salaries for managers were about $163,000, not including profit-sharing.
But it’s not just the managers who are seeing good pay. In-N-Out is known for offering above-minimum-wage salaries to entry-level employees, which they say contributes to their impressive retention rates.
Interestingly, other well-known chains have also adopted similar practices recently.
For instance, Bu-cee’s, a popular gas station chain from Texas, gained attention for advertising compelling pay rates in their job postings.
This summer, they went viral with a job listing for a management position, offering a salary of up to $275,000 without requiring prior training.
