The Indiana couple has been accused of giving their 10-year-old son “nutritional” negligence, zipping him and covering his head with a towel, unable to watch TV and telling his brothers to beat him.
Melody Rose Greenwood, 38, and 36, Adam John Greenwood, 36, each face preliminary charges of negligence from their dependents.
The abuse was revealed when a “very slender” child was taken to Indiana University Healthball Memorial Hospital for an examination that revealed “nutritional” neglect and child abuse, according to Muncie Star Press.
The alleged abuse was reported to the police.

The Indiana Department of Children's Services, which also investigates allegations of abuse, spoke with the victim's seven siblings. He explained that the 10-year-old was only given canned foods like beans, tomatoes and soups, and that everyone else “had a normal diet like a cheeseburger or fast food.”
The boy was forced to stand up to the wall for up to 12 hours a day, with a towel placed over his head to avoid watching TV.
He said his brother was told to “beat him” if he spoke or left the wall.

The child also said that the mother used the zip tie to restrain him, and the boy reported that the zip tie was so tight that he was in pain. He says his mother had her hands tied behind the back one night while preparing her bed, and was instructed to leave them to the rest of the night.
Officers said “wrist wounds and marks” appeared “in line with restraints.”
The two siblings are said to be the main source of education for other children, and homeschooling was reportedly limited to reading three chapters of the book per day while parents were working.
