Indianapolis 500 2025: Complete coverage

Before the 2024 Indianapolis 500, I had the opportunity to chat with McLaren CEO Zak Brown about the event. While he oversees McLaren’s Formula 1 team, Brown also focuses on Arrom Claren, the group’s IndyCar operations.

Last year, while the F1-action unfolded with Randororis and Oscar Piastri competing in the Monaco Grand Prix, Brown found himself at the Indy 500 for its 108th running.

Our conversation quickly revealed the allure of the race.

“I feel fortunate. Working for McLaren has certainly been a privilege. Memorial Day weekend means the fastest race in the world, and it’s recognized as the largest live sports event globally,” Brown shared last May. He mentioned legends like Andrettis and Fittipaldi, highlighting their connection to the race.

“This event tends to come with a lot of drama,” Brown remarked.

He reminisced about Emerson Fittipaldi and Al Unser Jr., noting the nostalgia it brings. “For any motor racing enthusiast, the Indy 500 has a way of touching you, almost like a childhood memory,” he said.

The Indianapolis 500 resonates with motorsport fans worldwide, and this weekend marks the 109th edition of this thrilling event. With qualifying starting this weekend, stay tuned for interviews with drivers and engineers, along with full race coverage coming next week. Be sure to check back regularly for all your Indianapolis 500 updates!
