Update on Nancy Guthrie Disappearance

A man was released shortly after being questioned by law enforcement in connection with the ongoing search for Nancy Guthrie, who has been missing for over ten days. Guthrie is the mother of Savannah Guthrie, a host on Today.

Carlos Palazuelos emerged as a person of interest after investigators executed a search warrant at his residence in Rio Rico. In a statement to reporters, Palazuelos acknowledged that agents from the FBI told him he resembled a figure seen in recently released security footage from Guthrie’s home.

“I hope they catch the suspect because I’m not the suspect,” Palazuelos commented.

In addition to this development, he mentioned that he works as a delivery driver but was unsure if he had ever delivered anything to Guthrie’s place.

The person captured in the security video appeared masked and armed, attempting to conceal his identity with a gloved hand and what looked like part of a plant.

According to the Pima County Sheriff’s Office, the search of Palazuelos’s property has been completed, but the investigation is still ongoing.

Earlier, officials from the Pima County Sheriff’s Department, with FBI support, had detained an individual for questioning related to the disappearance of the 84-year-old Guthrie from her Tucson home. This arrest occurred just south of Tucson as authorities prepared to conduct searches linked to him.
