Shooting Suspect Critiques Trump and Republicans
The individual arrested for the shooting at an ABC affiliate in Sacramento, California, is reportedly expressing discontent with President Donald Trump and the Republican Party. Anibal Hernandez Santana, a 64-year-old former health policy analyst for the Rural California Indian Health Board, was taken into custody on charges including “assault with a deadly weapon, negligent discharge of firearms, and shooting into occupied buildings.” He was fired from his position in 2018.
This incident occurred the day after a protest that had been suspended due to comments suggesting that the suspect in the assassination of Turning Point USA founder Charlie Kirk might have had ties to Trump supporters.
Records indicate that Hernandez Santana is currently held on $200,000 bail. Reports have linked his name to an account featuring a consistent stream of anti-Trump commentary.
A LinkedIn profile associated with his name reveals that he previously served as the legislative president of the California Federation of Teachers and is now reportedly focused on full-time parenting.
His online personas seem to echo a stable flow of criticism aimed at Trump.
In one of his posts, Hernandez Santana reacted to comments made by Rep. Troy Nehles (R-TX) about Kirk, describing it as “blasphemy.” He expressed disbelief at how some Republicans are caught up in what he perceives as twisted narratives, even referencing St. Paul of Tarsus in an unflattering manner.
In another post, Hernandez Santana supported the death penalty for Tyler Robinson, the alleged assassin of Kirk. His commentary has, at times, taken a conspiratorial tone, linking Trump’s actions to broader political machinations, including remarks about the National Guard’s deployment and other matters.
“Let’s clarify,” he penned in one instance, expressing frustration over what he views as disproportionate responses to crime and conspiracy theories surrounding Epstein’s files. It all adds to a complex image of a troubled individual, infused with political commentary and destabilized thoughts.
