No Kings 3 Protest Planned for March 28

A grassroots group known for organizing “No Kings” protests across the country is gearing up for another major national demonstration on March 28. This time, the focus is particularly on Minnesota, a site for numerous anti-immigrant enforcement rallies recently.

Indivisible, a liberal organization, is behind the protests, which are expected to take place nationwide on that date. The event, dubbed “No Kings 3,” will feature a significant march in the Twin Cities, with additional protests scheduled in various locations.

Ezra Levin, co-executive director of Indivisible, expressed high hopes for the event, suggesting that it could become the largest protest in U.S. history, potentially attracting up to 9 million participants. His comments reflect a response to what he describes as the current administration’s harsh attacks on democracy and communities.

Recently, Minnesota has become a focal point in the Trump administration’s immigration enforcement efforts, with around 3,000 federal agents deployed there—the largest single immigration crackdown during the president’s second term, according to organizers. Although plans for the spring demonstration predate the recent immigration actions, events like the shooting of Alex Preti and Renee Good by federal agents have intensified the rally’s significance.

Amidst the growing frustration over the government’s approach to immigration, past protests have illustrated widespread discontent regarding what activists see as an effort to centralize power under President Trump. The earlier “No Kings” demonstrations last year saw over 7 million participants, happening in about 2,700 cities and towns across all 50 states.

Levin noted that Indivisible and its allies will continue their organizing efforts well beyond March 28, with plans for nationwide training sessions aimed at monitoring immigration enforcement. He emphasized that this struggle transcends political parties: “This is a question about whether we even have democracy at all.”
