Infant Girl Killed by Gunfire in Stroller in NYC Reportedly by Undocumented Immigrant

Tragic Shooting Claims Life of Infant in Brooklyn

A shooting incident in South Williamsburg, New York City, resulted in the death of a 7-month-old baby girl, Kaori Patterson-Moore. This tragic event unfolded around 1 PM on Wednesday when the child’s mother was strolling her in a sidewalk stroller, and gunfire erupted around them.

According to a report, the suspects involved are believed to be illegal immigrants, sparking responses from local officials regarding New York City’s sanctuary policies. City Councilmember Vicki Palladino pointed out that those arrested likely have extensive criminal records and have previously evaded serious prosecution. In a post on X, Palladino commented, “This is how zero execution works.”

Police suspect gang involvement in the incident. The alleged perpetrators attempted to escape on a moped but crashed during their getaway. Surveillance footage captured one of the suspects holding a firearm during the crash.

In addition to the loss of the infant, a 2-year-old boy in the same stroller suffered a bullet graze to his back. Both children were rushed to the hospital, where the young girl was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Reports indicate that one of the suspects is in custody. Palladino expressed outrage over the incident, asserting that such occurrences are almost predictable given the history of the shooter, who had faced multiple arrests for various crimes and has known gang affiliations. She stated, “Most, if not all, of these will turn out to be true, because at this point, it’s always been true.”

The police have not yet disclosed the identity of the shooter or information regarding the intended target. A heartbroken Charles Moore reflected on the tragedy, saying, “My daughter was innocent. Nothing like that happened to her.” He lamented that they were simply out for errands.

New York City Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch described the day as “a terrible day for our city and a tragedy that truly shocks the conscience,” emphasizing the gravity of the situation.
