Influencer David Humplett livestreams after diamondback rattlesnake bite

This is the most Gen Z snakebites ever recorded.

A social media influencer was bitten by a rattlesnake in Florida during a shoot and made a mad dash for her life to the hospital, saying she was “cooked”.

David Hamplett, a 25-year-old up-and-coming wildlife influencer, was bitten on the leg by a highly venomous crawler on December 18th while he and some friends were scavenging in the woods by the side of a road on Shared Island. We started shooting immediately after that. WCJB reported.

“Hey, I'm done cooking,” he says, pulling up his jeans to show the camera his newly bleeding wound. In a video recorded shortly after the life-threatening bite.

“What a meme guy!” said the Gen Zer, trying to smile at the camera.

“Let's take a picture first. I mean, we're not good anymore anyway,” the boy told his friends quietly, poison coursing through his veins.

“Cool snake. Big diamondback. GG,” he said, using slang for “good game.”

Hamplett said the diamondback rattlesnake was “the worst snake to bite in Florida,” before turning off his camera and rushing to his car with three friends.

He was transported by medical helicopter to UF Health Shands. According to WCJB.

Doctors injected 88 vials of antivenom into his leg, but the leg remains purple and deformed.

The resilient adventurer remains in the ICU at UF Health Shands Hospital, where his wife works as a nurse.

“Inwardly he's panicking, but outwardly she's reassuring him, 'It's okay,'” Hamplett's wife, Emma Lynier, said, according to WCJB.

“Our team here at work helped us rush to the emergency room the moment the helicopter landed.”

Despite the ordeal, the positive-minded Hamplett holds no hard feelings toward her attacker.

“The snake was just doing what it had to do. It perceived me as a threat and was just trying to protect itself. I'm not angry at the snake and I'm not angry at anyone else. I don't want people to get angry about it,” he told the station.
