Trisha Paytas Considers Running for California State Assembly
Influencer Trisha Paytas has been sharing her thoughts in a series of videos recently, where she expresses a serious interest in running for the California State Assembly.
“I’m not joking, although I know it might sound a bit nuts, but I think I can actually do this,” Paytas mentioned in a video filmed from her car. “I really want to run for Congress. There are 52 districts in California, and I’d love a shot at it.”
She went on to explain, “There’s an election on November 3, 2026, and I have ideas for some legislation I want to present. It’s just, I feel compelled to make a real difference. There are so many awful things happening, both globally and locally, that I think, ‘What can I do?’ But actually, I can run. I genuinely want to put my best foot forward for that.”
Paytas revealed a political slogan: “California could be better,” and emphasized, “We really need a system that works for everyone and everything.”
In a recent podcast episode, she touched on one of her proposed policies, suggesting that anyone participating in adult films or platforms like OnlyFans should be at least 25 years old. She was also critical of the current politicians, labeling them as “old men and women” who are fixated on irrelevant matters like warfare.
During another discussion, she admitted feeling apprehensive about the idea of entering Congress but is still considering the possibility. “Honestly, I’m scared. Congress has become quite a trending topic online. Just give me a moment,” she said, expressing a mix of enthusiasm and fear. “I loved this idea, but it intimidates me.”
Despite her reservations, she noted they are still in the early stages of exploring this opportunity. If a campaign doesn’t seem feasible, she mentioned other ways she might seek to create change. “I want to make a difference, and I’m figuring out how to do it without people pushing me,” she explained.
“Let’s keep this on the back burner for now. We don’t have all the time in the world. Decisions need to be made soon, as we likely have until about February 9th to start gathering signatures,” she added.
In the past, Paytas has navigated a politically fluctuating landscape. In 2012, she endorsed Mitt Romney, calling him “super hot” in a video that has since been deleted. She backed Donald Trump in 2016, but later released another video in 2019 where she stated she no longer supported him, admitting she had never voted and lacked knowledge about politics.
