Texas officials are investigating the murder of an Infowars reporter in Austin, Texas on Sunday night.
Infowars founder Alex Jones announced Monday that one of his reporters, Jamie White, had been “brutally murdered” around midnight.
Fox7 Austin reported The murder, which was Austin's eighth murder in 2025, took place in the 2300 block of Douglas Street in South Austin, a residential area.
The outlet reported that officers from the Austin Police Station (APD) arrived at the scene and “found an adult man with obvious signs of trauma.” The victim was taken to the hospital where he died.
In a statement, Infowars announced that reporting White's death was “deeply saddened.”
“We are deeply saddened to hear that Infowars reporter Jamie White was brutally murdered around midnight on Sunday night.
“We vowed that Jamie's tragic death would not be in vain, and the person responsible for this pointless violence will be brought to justice,” the statement continued. “Jamie's important work is done through Infowars, his readers and his precious listeners.”
Austin has experienced an influx of crime in recent years. The APD has asked residents to call 311 if they are stolen near an ATM during a 2023 shortage.

In August 2024, residents of the city's Montpolis area told KVUE-TV that crime was on the rise and expressed fear of their safety.
“It's standing up the hair on my arm. To hear the 8, 9, 10 shots. Just bum, bum, bum. Where do those bullets go?” said the local. “I don't want to be shot sleeping in my bed.”
Fox News Digital has contacted APD for additional information.
